The Easton Twilight Criterium is an exciting event that offers cycling and running races on a fully enclosed course. The downtown area features a 0.71-mile course with six turns, which makes it a challenging course where skill will make all the difference. A short uphill finish on Northampton Street will reward the strong and savvy racers in front of thousands of Easton’s Centre Square fans. The entire course will be surrounded by fans who will be cheering and ringing cowbells while enjoying food and drinks at the many restaurants and bars. So, bring your friends and family along for this high-energy twilight criterium.
The cycling race is for USA Cycling-licensed riders. Cyclists must have a valid 2024 racing license with one-day licenses available at the time of registration at BikeReg.com. For more information on securing a racing license, go to USA Cycling.

Registration is now closed.
Day of registration is available until 30 minutes prior to the start of your category race if the race has not already sold out. Riders looking to register day of are required to pay $20 day of registration fee in addition to listed category registration price.

230 Northampton Street is the new start/finish line. This brings the action close to Centre Square, restaurants, and vendors. Northampton is a 3% gradient.

General Parking
Street parking is generally available around the course. Please follow all posted signs for parking rules and download the ParkMobile App.

Athlete Event Check-in
Athlete Event Check-in and Number Pick Up is located near start-finish on the INSIDE of the course. The closest address is the intersection of Northampton St and Sitgreaves St, next to Easton Outdoor Company (230 Northampton St)
Number Pick-Up
Number pick-up closes 30 minutes before any race start time. Anyone outside this time cannot pick up their number or timing chip, even if you have pre-registered.
Timing Chips
Timing Chips will only be used by the Junior combined race block (Girls 15-18, Girls 9-14, Boys 9-14). All other races will be by number and finish camera only.
Timing chips must be placed on the front fork of your bike, no higher than 8″ from the axle. It can be placed on either side of the fork.
If you currently own a Race Result timing chip, CRCA, Prospect Park, etc., please bring it with you and race with it. It will make the registration process much smoother, and you won’t have to return the chip after your race. We will have rental chips available at registration for those that don’t own their own chip.
These chips MUST be returned, or you will be invoiced for the replacement cost of $100. If you are only racing Easton, return after Easton. Otherwise, return after Somerville.
Athlete Staging
All riders must report to Athlete Staging on North 2nd Street and Northampton Street 15 minutes before their event starts.
Start Lists
Start lists will be published by Friday, May 24th. They can also be found at Athlete Staging.
Grid Start
For Category 2 and 3, the top 10 returning riders are placed at the front of the grid. Places 11 to 100 are placed by registration time.
For Category 4 and Novice events, the top 10 returning riders are placed at the front of the grid. Places 11 to 75 are placed by registration time.
For Category Pro, 1, and 2, the top 10 returning riders are placed at the front of the grid. 11-18 are reserved for the Race Director’s Discretion. 19-100 are placed by registration time.
Regardless of category or rank, all day-of registrations are placed at the back of the grid.
Refund Information
Please refer to the refund page for the latest policy. We’ve created a policy allowing riders to register early but reduce the concern of not being able to start in Easton or Somerville due to a mid-season injury or other situation.
Awards
Prizes for all other races are based on the overall result of the event. Category scoring is specific to the PA State Championship purposes.
Professional Races compete for $5,000, Medals, Jerseys, and Primes. Advertisement primes will be called by the announcer and the ringing of the bell at the start-finish line. The announcer, race officials, or event director reserves the ability to award the prime in 1) Single amount 2) split between multiple places 3) solely to the breakaway 4) solely to the field.
Crowd Primes are in addition to the Advertisement Primes described above. These will be any dollars or prizes brought to the Stage on race day. These awards are collected as a sum-total of their value to be distributed solely as “Crowd Primes.” Any person or business who wishes to have a specific message read by the announcer should consider an Advertisement Prime before race day.
Payout
Prize payments: riders may collect prize money, primes, and awards on the day of competition at prize payout, located at the registration trailer at the start/finish line.
Prizes and awards (both cash and non-cash) not claimed within 60 days of the race will be voided and returned to the promoter. No exceptions. If a rider in contention for prizes or awards cannot be present to collect post-race, they are encouraged to leave contact information with the stage manager or race promoter AND EMAIL to follow up post-race to info@longtailproductions.com
The cash payout is $5000, 15 places deep for the Pro Women and Pro Men.

Pennsylvania State Criterium Championships
Rule 7J3 (a) To be eligible for a State Championship jersey or medal, a rider must hold a current USA Cycling annual license and reside in the state as shown on the rider’s license.
This means that while the race is open to anyone, PA residents are eligible to be awarded the State Championship in their event. The top-placed Pennsylvania rider in the races will be awarded the state championship for their category. For example, if the top-placed PA rider finishes 3rd overall, they will win the state championship.
Junior and Master races are not awarded state championships at this event.
Women Championships
- Category 4 is awarded to the top Category 4 in the Women’s 3/4/Novice
- Category 3 is awarded to the top Category 3 in the Women’s 3/4/Novice
- Category 2 is awarded to the top Category 2 in the Women’s Pro/1/2/3
- Category 1 is awarded to the top Category 1 in the Women’s Pro/1/2/3
Men Championships
- Category 4 is awarded to the top Category 4 in the Men’s 4/Novice
- Category 3 is awarded to the top Category 3 in the Men’s 3
- Category 2 is awarded to the top Category 2 in the Men’s Pro/1/2
- Category 1 is awarded to the top Category 1 in the Men’s Pro/1/2
Novice and Professional categories are not eligible for state championship prizes under USAC rules.

NO WARM UP ON THE COURSE DURING THE COMMUNITY RIDE
Any riders found to be actively warming up on the course will be disqualified from the event.
Notes for Your Stay
- The Grand Estonian is the official race hotel for the Easton Twilight Criterium. Located at the final turn on Northampton, it is convenient for any racer. When calling to make a reservation, mention that you are here for the race for a preferred rate.
- The Easton Public Market, 325 Northampton St., is proud to support cyclists in Easton. You’ll get the following Pedal Power rewards when you wear your helmet to the market: discounts on smoothies and free fruit from the Farmer’s Market!
- The Easton Farmer’s Market is Saturday morning until 12p on Larry Holmes Drive.
- Lehigh Valley is also home to Valley Preferred Cycling Center, one of America’s top velodromes located in Trexlertown, Pa.
